The thing I find most interesting about this is that Stacey Dash’s career would’ve been dead a long time ago if it wasn’t for tv stations like BET, Centric and CW. Over 90% of her TV shows and movies have been broadcast only on black TV channels.
I know a lot of black people who liked to see her in movies. I don’t know any white people that know her outside of the movie ‘Clueless’. She’s ok with burning her TV and Movie bridge because her career has all but stagnated and because she thinks that, as the new republican unicorn, she has found a new home.
The irony is that her antics are indicative of the new opportunistic behavior I see in the Republican party. Nothing is ever a problem until it no longer benefits them. It’s sad really.
Consider her statement:
“We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration, and if we don’t want segregation, then we have to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black,” Dash said. “If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard.”
There are several white people that have won the NAACP award as well as the BET award. Justin Timberlake, Sam Salter, Eminem, Robin Thicke, come to mind.

I find it disgraceful to see someone turn their back on what made them just for a few extra dollars.
Now, she wants to be seen as this.
Instead of this.
